The Williams-Sonoma Visa Signature Card

Nearly all retail stores offer their own co-branded credit card, and these cards can be a good value in some instances, but not in others.  The Williams-Sonoma kitchenware store offers its The Williams-Sonoma Visa Signature Card that features rewards for spending and other benefits that their customers will appreciate.

How this card works

For each dollar spent, cardholders earn one reward point, and triple points are earned from purchases from  Williams-Sonoma retail stores or online. Once cardholders earn 2,500 bonus points, they will receive a $25 gift card for Williams-Sonoma purchases, or they can apply points to statement credits against recent Williams-Sonoma purchases. Cardholders also receive a 10% off coupon each time they spend $2,500 with their card.

Other benefits include access to exclusive culinary experiences in stores and special benefits for cardmembers with a wedding registry. Finally, cardholders receive free shipping when they use their card to make a purchase.

This card has no annual fee, but there is a 3% foreign transaction fee on all charges processed outside of the United States.

Advantages

Cardholders can earn substantial rewards for their spending on Williams-Sonoma purchases, and can enjoy significant savings from reward points and coupons earned. In addition, the free shipping offer can provide great value to those who frequently make small purchases online that do not qualify for free shipping.

 Disadvantages

Rewards worth 1% of most purchases is not a very competitive offer, and even 3% rewards from Williams-Sonoma purchases is less than the bonus reward categories with many credit cards. Like most reward cards, the interest rate for this card is not very competitive either. And finally, there are many cards that do not have foreign transaction fees, so cardholders should leave this card at home when the leave the country.

 Who this card is for

This is a great card for fans of Williams-Sonoma products who want to enjoy free shipping, coupons, and access to events. But at the same time, this is not a particularly attractive reward credit card or a low interest means of finance.

And since this card has no annual fee, there really isn’t any cost to getting it, if only to use occasionally. By combining decent rewards and some great perks, Williams-Sonoma customers can use this card to purchase more shiny objects for their kitchens.
