Updated December 1st, 2010 – After treating customers horribly for the past two years, credit card companies are desperately trying to lure in new customers. One tried and true approach is to offer free money in the form of cash back credit card offers. The other method is offering excellent 0% APR balance transfer deals that can last up to 21 months. While most people with credit card debt can benefit significantly from a 0% APR balance transfer, those who have minimal credit card debt and want to cash in should look no further than these lucrative cash back credit card offers.
Here’s a list of the most generous deals currently available:
The Chase Freedom® Visa – $100 Bonus Cash Back offers, well, $100 cash back. This is among the most generous cash back deals on the market today, but there is a catch. In order to get the $100 cash back reward, you must make $500 in purchases during the first three months you are a card member. This won’t be hard for most people, but don’t run up debt just to get $100 cash back.
Apart from the $100 bonus, this cash back credit card also offers 1% cash back on most purchases and 5% cash back in categories that change every quarter. The Chase Freedom Visa is also a good balance transfer credit card, as it offers a 0% APR for 12 months with a low 3% fee, plus a 0% APR on purchases for 6 months.
The Discover® More® Card – $100 Cashback Bonus® also offers a $100 cash back bonus, but only requires new cardholders to spend $500 within three months to cash in on the cash back. Additionally, this card does provide a 0% APR on balance transfers for 12 months as well as a 0% APR on purchases for 6 months, making this a better deal for those who want a cash back credit card and have high interest balances to transfer.
The Discover cash back rewards system is similar to that of Chase. Cardmembers earn up to 1% cash back on all purchases and 5% in categories that change every three months.
The Citi Forward Card is offering a $100 statement credit to new cardmembers for a limited time. As with the Discover More Card, you only need to spend $500 within three months to get your $100 in cashback. And, like the Discover offer, you get a 0% interest rate on both purchases and balance transfers. Unfortunately, this card does not offer cashback rewards on future purchases, which makes the Chase and Discover offers better for people interested in earning more than just a $100 cash back bonus.
For additional information on these offers, please see the Citibank, Chase or Discover credit card sections of Smart Balance Transfers. Because offers change frequently, carefully examine the terms and conditions of these offers before you apply online.
